LPG pipework and joints need to use the best spares / components

LPG is a searching gas – one with the capability to penetrate a joint and search for a way through.

So…

  • When using LPG the sealing rings of compression joints (Olives!) must be made from copper not brass.
  • LPG fittings must be a tapered thread not a parallel one.
  • Thermocouples for use on LPG fueled environments must be nickel plated – they are better quality and last longer.

Tower Commercial Catering uses nickel plated thermocouples in all instalations (including natural gas) because of their better quality and longer lasting features.

Where possible & practicable Tower use tapered fittings on Natural Gas installations too!
